A message from Karl 'Jay' Jabour, owner of Karl's Clothiers:

A brief history of Karl's Clothiers
" Thanks for visiting us! I'd like to let you know a little about Karl's Clothiers and its history. Our store was founded in Vicksburg ,Ms in 1948 as the Vicksburg Tailoring Company by my parents Karl and Delores Jabour. The store expanded and in 1950, with brothers Mike and Johnny, became The Jabour Brothers. In 1953 Karl bought out the two brothers (Mike and Johnny) and 2 weeks later , Saturday December 5 a tornado came through and destroyed the entire store. 10 months later we were back in busines as Karl's Haberdashery. We continually operated until December 5, 1959 at which time we lost the entire store to a fire. At this time my father felt we needed a change of location and we reopened two doors down. With several expansions, the store continued in that location until 1995. In 1987 , I returned to my mother's home town, Jacksonville, Florida and opened the first Karl's in Mandarin. We have operated continually in various Jacksonville neighborhoods. Currently we search the world over and bring to Jacksonville such lines as Canali, Ravazzolo, and many others. It is an honor to serve you with the same style of service my father offered when founding Karl's Haberdashery. We look forward to the opportunity of meeting you. "
